The Interact Club of Lake Buena Vista High School

Things to know about Interact

A Rotary club sponsors every Interact club and provides continual guidance. The Rotary Club of Lake Buena Vista is proud to sponsor the LBVHS Interact club. A Melbourne, Florida high school established the first Interact club in 1962, and the movement quickly spread to many other parts of the world. Today, there are almost 15,000 Interact clubs, nearly 350,000 interactors, and 145 countries with Interact clubs.

What Interact Does

Interact clubs bring together young people ages 12-18 to develop leadership skills while meeting new friends and discovering the power of Service Above Self. Interactors come to know how serious leadership and achievement can be fun and fulfilling. Interact clubs organize at least two service projects a year: one that benefits their community and one that encourages international understanding. While Interact clubs receive guidance from individual Rotary clubs, they govern and support themselves.

The LBVHS Interact club celebrates the global impact of Interact by getting involved in:

  • World Interact Week
  • Interact Video Awards
  • Rotary Youth Day at the United Nations
  • Global Youth Service Day

Partnership

Interactors often form a service partnership with the sponsoring Rotarians, lending their enthusiastic support to a variety of Rotary projects. Interact benefits its members, the sponsoring Rotary club, and the community that the interactors serve. Through Interact, young people develop initiative, leadership skills, and lasting friendships. The Rotary club gains a service partner, as well as an opportunity to prepare its community’s youth for future leadership.
