Orlando, Florida is known as the family vacation capital of the world and our Rotary Club of Lake Buena Vista serves as the host community for Rotary Members visiting our city, its theme parks and more than 100 attractions.
The Rotary Club of Lake Buena Vista was founded in 1972, soon after Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdome theme park was inaugurated earlier that same year. Our Club was chartered with the intention of becoming the official Rotary makeup location for Rotarians traveling to the Orlando area on their family vacations. Since that year, we have enjoyed a continuous stream of visitors who come to the Disney Area for both leisure and business travel reasons.
A unique feature of our Rotary Club is that we are the only civic organization granted the privilege and honor of wearing the iconic Mickey’s Ears in our Rotary badges and banners, an honor bestowed upon our Club during the original charter in the early 1970s.
During 2009-2010, the Rotary Club of Lake Buena Vista is under the leadership of Sonny Buoncervello, a long-time member of the Club who is spearheading the effort of creating awareness for Rotary LBV as the official make-up club for those visiting Orlando during their vacation or in business trips.
With that in mind , the Rotary Club of Lake Buena Vista continues its magical legacy by hosting Rotarians from every country around the world who attend our Club’s weekly breakfast meeting every Thursday morning at 7:15 AM at the Wyndham Lake Buena Vista Resort—Orlando’s best known tourism district.
